What are your hours?

What happens to my electronics/equipment after they are submitted for recycling?

Material received for recycling is sorted for dismantling or shredded to refine for base commodities. These commodities include; steel, aluminum, plastic, circuit boards, and more. This process allows for the reuse of elements within obsolete or unwanted devices, and aids in the conservation of the earth’s natural resources.

 

What about any personal information stored on my device?
Do you destroy the data on the hard drives?

During disassembly, all hard drives are removed from devices and then destroyed by shredding. Or, if preferred, customers can select one of our alternative Data Destruction methods.

 

Are all the electronics recycled, or can they be reused?

Final disposition of equipment is determined by the parameters set by our customers; electronics can be either recycled or reused, depending on the customers’ specifications. Electronic devices that are permitted for reuse are evaluated and tested. Units successfully completing this process are then resold in our secure resale bid process.

 

Is there any value for my material? How much does it cost?

Are you certified, permitted, and audited?

We comply with all applicable government regulations and hold several certifications, including; ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and R2. In order to maintain these qualifications, IMSE undergoes periodic audits, to ensure the proper implementation of all necessary requirements.

 

Where do you ship? Do you export?

We utilize a strict Downstream Vendor program that ensures companies receiving material from IMSE for further processing, meet all applicable standards, are properly licensed, and equipped to manage the material recovery. Companies successfully completing all components of this process will become approved vendors; only approved vendors will receive material from IMSE. All end of life electronics devices are processed at IMSE facilities down to base commodities, no whole electronic waste is exported.

 

Do you provide transportation services?

IMSE can arrange and provide transportation services for existing business customers, upon request. Please Contact Us (hyperlink) for more information or for scheduling.

 

Is recycling electronics tax deductible?

We provide our customers with all relevant documentation for materials received, including a Certificate of Recycling. However, IMS Electronics Recycling staff members are not authorized to give advice regarding taxes. Please contact your tax agent for questions.
